Plano, Texas Makes Top 10 List for Best Cities to be a Renter

WalletHub just released their 2016 results for the best (and worst) cities to be renting in, comparing 150 of the largest cities in America. Plano, just 19 miles north of Dallas, ranked as the 6th best city on their list.

To determine the best and the worst cities, WalletHub looked at multiple variables, allowing a total of 60 possible points in the area of “Rental Market & Affordability” (such as cost of living, historical rental-price changes, percentage of renters, etc.) and 40 possible points in the area of “Quality of Life” (such as job availability, weather, school systems, driver-friendliness, etc.).

Plano had the 8th best score for the “Rental Market & Affordability” category and 24th best score overall for the “Quality of Life” category. The study also mentioned that overall, Plano ranked #2 out of the 150 cities studied for “Highest Rental Affordability.”
