Argyle is location six miles south of Denton, at a point that marks the eastern edge of the famous Chisholm Trail. Founded in 1881 when the Texas and Pacific Rail Line was emerging along the southwestern edge of Denton County, Argyle remains an easily accessible choice from either Fort Worth or Dallas.
This area of towering oak and hickory trees showcases new residential subdivisions under development. Many homes include acreage to provide more of a country estate lifestyle.
Families who are relocating to the Argyle area will have comfort in knowing that their children will have great schools to attend. Although young, Argyle’s school system has been ranked as a four-star school — among the top public elementary schools—in the state. While children attend Argyle schools from kindergarten through eighth grade, they may choose between Denton and Northwest ISDs for secondary education.
Continued expansion of the city includes wastewater system improvements; better thoroughfares from recent bond elections; a city pride task force that promotes community activities; and a city hall government that sponsors quarterly town hall meetings.
Far enough away from the city lights, stars shine brighter here in small town Argyle.
