HollyhockNewland’s master-planned community in Frisco, Texas, recently celebrated its grand opening with a focus on the arts. Residents and guests experienced the refined, artistic elements of the community, and were treated to visual delights from local artists, delicious food and treats from locally-owned businesses, and fun lawn games for the whole family.

DJ Nate Nelson got the party started with fun music and kept the crowd energized between sets from talented and entertaining jazz band, The Rob Holbert Group.

Fields House, Hollyhock’s captivating 3,580 square foot amenity center, which will be the hub of social life at Hollyhock, is officially open for residents. It’s home to a resort-style pool with a beach entry, lap lanes, a lounging shelf and a splash pad; an event lawn; a playground; a covered patio with a large, outdoor fireplace; a fitness center; and gathering spaces for residents of all ages.

During Hollyhock’s grand opening celebration, guests were treated to tropical island music by the pool and cool sweets from Steel City Pops . Inside Fields House, Eight 11 Place hosted wine tastings for guests touring the amenity center. Also available to taste was locally-made, delicious and healthy juice smoothies from Extracts – a perfect refreshment while exploring the fitness center. Frisco Association for the Arts hosted a children’s art activity and take home craft.

Fields Park was home to a selection of Frisco favorites including: Ruthie’sEasy Slider and Coolhaus food trucks; live speed painter Gabino-Gino Martinez; and four Frisco artists, Teresa KriegerLucy TolkunovaPuja Grover and Inita Steele, showcasing both live and completed artworks. Guests could explore the 5.5 miles of adjacent hiking and biking trails without leaving the park thanks to an interactive virtual reality tour and stationary bike provided by Richardson Bike Mart- Frisco. There were also several outdoor activities for children, ranging from chalk art coloring, face painting and drawing lessons led by Young Rembrandts.

“Hollyhock embraces the exceptional vibrancy of Frisco and delivers our homeowners a luxurious respite from their busy, hectic lives,” said Tracy Simmons, regional director of marketing for Newland Communities. “We are thrilled that guests and residents enjoyed the grand opening celebration. Hollyhock is the embodiment of sophistication and class through artful design.”

Hollyhock is a haven for families seeking a richer connection to neighbors, friends, nature, art and the larger, social community of Frisco. The master-planned community is located in the Frisco ISD and planned for approximately 800 single-family homes. Hollyhock gives residents abundant opportunities to celebrate nature, with 20 acres of recreation inside the community, and 5.5 miles of adjacent hiking and biking trails connecting to more than 300 acres of natural open space.

The major site and building walls of Hollyhock are Hadrian limestone panels sourced from Oklahoma in both smooth and sandblasted finishes, aluminum composite panels and stained natural wood accent panels that give feelings of endurance and longevity. The Hadrian limestone is also used on the pool water plinths that contain waterfall weirs flowing linearly on both sides of the formal pool. The interior of Fields House, with its high ceilings and expansive windows, provides a spirit of openness and transparency in contrast to the solid, grounded walls. The landscaping surrounding Fields House consists primarily of low-water, native plants for a scenic Texas landscape that creates an oasis allowing residents and visitors alike to feel right at home.

Fields House is staffed Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
